the most overrated and the most
underrated composer for the
classical guitar?

I don’t think of
this topic in exactly the same
terms, but I do know what you mean.
These days society has much more
efficient and quicker ways of
promoting cultural figures – so I’d
say in general the composers that
are the most recent will have the
tendency to be overrated - due to
all the media hype. Still, there are
many really excellent composers for
the guitar, ….and time will tell.

would you use in advertising for the
classical guitar?

“I can’t believe
its classical guitar!”….this was a
slogan used by a frozen yogurt
company in the US to great effect
and it seems to apply to items of
acquired taste.

life do you definitely want to learn
and what do you regret not having
done?
Enric Madriguera:
1. Learn - more music.
2. Regret: Not having an infinite
lifetime to do this even better.

Contribute to the
pedagogy and scholarship of the
guitar and related instruments, and
add to the historic legacy of the
guitar in some way.

embarrassing for you?
Enric Madriguera
Leaving
scores on an airplane – which were
then lost. Luckily I was with
Kathryn Evans, as I performed with
her the last time I was in Rust. She
saved the day and I copied her
scores – but that was both a shock
to not see the scores and an
embarrassment as well. I learned a
good lesson there.

Ninguno!!..none
of us!!.....Segovia blazed his own
path – we need to find our own path
in this respect.
